Scripture: Exodus Denomination: Church Of God. And they went three days in the wilderness and found no water. Therefore the name of it was called Marah. When he cast it into the waters, the waters were made sweet. There He made a statute and an ordinance for them, and there He tested them, 26 and said, "If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you. I love the whole story of the Exodus and all the Israelites went through from years of slavery in Egypt until they finally possessed the land of Canaan 45 years after they crossed the Red Sea.

Bakers Creek Baptist Church. Ever since we have come to know the Lord as Our Savior we have been like the Israelites on a journey to the promise land. God has promised us a place that is free from all enemies, a place where all our needs are meet, and above all a place where he can have uninterrupted fellowship with his people. Notice that the Israelites were a chosen people by God Deut for thou art an holy people unto the Lord thy God, and the Lord hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth. I also know that everyone has the same opportunity to be come one of the chosen, and that is by believe the bible to be the word of God and accepting the Lord Jesus the Christ as your Savior. The point I was trying to make last week is that once we are chosen by God, he will never forsake us. The LORD took his chosen people from the Land of Egypt and preserved them through all trails that they had to under go since him calling them out of Egypt and he will preserve us out of the trails that we have to go through in this world, which I called the saints MARAH, till he leads us to our ELIM Notice all the things that he did for them as summed up by the prophet Nehemiah and recorded in the book that bears his name Neh 19 Yet thou in thy manifold mercies forsookest them not in the wilderness : the pillar of the cloud departed not from them by day, to lead them in the way ; neither the pillar of fire by night, to shew them light, and the way wherein they should go. We need to keep in mind that the same eyes that watch over them, watch over you, the same hands that gave to them, give to us.
God leads his children to Elim via Marah. The Bible applies the lessons of Marah and Elim by describing Jesus as the water of life. Jesus was speaking about the Holy Spirit, who is the refreshing source of all spiritual vitality. To come to Jesus is to receive the Holy Spirit, and with the Spirit, an everlasting supply of grace.
